Boko Haram Beheads 5 Persons In Borno IDP Camp, Others Missing
The Boko Haram Terrorist group has killed not less than five residents of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. According to sources quoted in the report, eight persons had left the IDP camp on Sunday in search of firewood but were believed to have been attacked when they didn’t return in good time.
This prompted officials to declare them missing and Vigilantes embarked on a search and rescue mission to bring them back.

FG Declares Work Free Day, Issue Other Instructions In Honour Of Late COAS Attahiru
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved Monday, 24th May 2021 as a work free day for members of the Armed Forces as a mark of honour for the late Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru. The President also directed that the national flag should fly at Half Mast in all public buildings and official residences across the country, from Monday May 24 to Wednesday May 26, 2021.
The directives were contained in a statement issued on Sunday night by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Gbenga Daniel Writes Gov Abiodun To Suspend Payment Of Allowance And Pension
A former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, has requested that going forward, his monthly allowances and pension should be suspended.
According to him, the suspension of his monthly allowance and pension complied with his conscience, moral principle and ethical code against double emoluments that a serving Senator, who hitherto was a former State governor, shall not be entitled to the payment of pension and allowances from such a state.
Naija News reports that Daniel, who is now the new Senator representing Ogun East, made the request in a letter titled, ‘Request To Suspend My Monthly Pension and Allowances’, and addressed to the incumbent governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun.

Gunmen Kidnap Edo IPMAN Chairman, Kill Driver
The Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria in Edo State, Abdulhamid Baba-Saliu has been kidnapped by gunmen. The gunmen during the attack killed his driver, while his security aide was injured in the incident that happened at the Jattu area, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
A human rights lawyer, Abdul Mahmud, who is an in-law of the victim disclosed that the gunmen who abducted Baba-Saliu on Monday night are yet to contact the family.
IGP Reactivates Smartforce Database Management System
The Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has reactivated the Police Smartforce DataBase System as part of his digitalization drive for the Police Force. In a statement on Sunday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the main objective of the database is to enhance the competence and effective service delivery in all areas of policing.
The Force spokesman added that the database will help especially in the smooth administrative management of the Nigeria Police Force.
