Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has commended the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu. In a statement issued on Monday, Lawan stated that the ruling APC and its flagbearer made a good decision by choosing Shettima as the vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.
Lawan stated that Shettima has what it takes to be an excellent running mate to Tinubu, adding that the former Governor of Borno State is a loyal and committed APC member.

The People’s Democratic Party has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against interfering with Saturday’s national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC). PDP noted that monitoring the campaign would be a violation of the body’s statutory mandate under the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act of 2022
